Another one of the many salons in this section of Huntington Avenue near Northeastern University, New England Conservatory and the Symphony and Mass Ave MBTA stops, Sal's Barbershop definitely caters more to the male population in the area--most girls don't end up at a "barbershop"--just as many guys won't go anywhere near the scented, fluffy salons of Newbury Street. With only day hours and weekday openings, it's not a good place if you work fulltime, but students and locals can definitely walk in or make an appointment for daylight haircuts during the week. It's clean, quiet, and calming. With a large staff, waiting is usually never an issue. Only have 30 minutes and in need of a manicure, no problem. Need a quick wax before vacation, but [gasp!] leaving tomorrow, done. My Nail Salon is suitably named, as when I walk in, I feel as if I'm home. A Regular Manicure is $12.00, Full Set Acrylic is $32.00, Hand Paraffin Treatment is $10.00, and Eyebrow Wax is $12.00. My Nail Salon also has Massages. Treat yourself to a relaxing massage while you are out and about-especially with the stressful holiday season righ around the corner.
